I enjoy reading the Cool Tools blog.  It’s nice and low volume so you don’t feel over run with posts.  On top of that it has interesting tools for all walks of life.  The diversity of posts is refreshing.  Reason being, all (or at least most) of the posts are written by readers.

Yesterday’s was a little extra enjoyable, this guy apparently received this Halligan Bar as a gift but luckily hasn’t had to use it so far…

I keep mine leaning against the wall in the corner, where it waits for the day when I need to smash into or out of something… or I hear screams of “He’s trapped inside!” or “The Zombies are here!”

If you’re wondering what heck a halligan bar, just imagine the tool you wish you would of had in the first level of Half Life.  If that description doesn’t do it for you…it’s a crow bar with an attitude.

This is a very low tech (if you can even call it low tech) version of what I you could see being created in the very near future.  The fact that all this technology is coming together in this way is really mind boggling and logical at the same time.  You need to watch this all the way through to fully appreciate the idea.

(Thanks to Lisa for showing me this)

Apparently he is having a hard time grasping the whole idea of twittering…or just insightful twittering.  I’m not sure if that’s even possible, but if you think you know…fill him in!

The reason I don’t twitter myself is I don’t know what a good twitterer is. Before I started blogging I began reading the best blogs so I could then write what I would like to read. I don’t read great twitters so I am ignorant of what I want to do.

Gadgetopia posted a while ago about the new KERS system that was being developed for F1. Granted, when I first heard about it, I was thinking the same thing that Deane was….probably the coolest thing ever for car racing.

Well, apparently the mechanics may disagree. There have been a couple cases so far including this latest one caught on video that demonstrate the danger of large amounts of energy held in the form of electricity and predominantly what happens when it goes bad.

Now kids, sharpen up those #2 pencils, grab your favorite college ruled note book from your transformers trapper keeper and lets learn about conductors and insulators. (here’s a hint mechanic=conductor)
